Listen I can't even title a fanfic

Well, it's been 2026 in Kiribati for quite a few hours, so let's get this thing started!

Welcome to the 2026 Podfic Big Bang. You mission, should you choose to accept it, is to record, edit, and post an epic-length podfic, from between this moment and the very last second of March 31st, AoE (anywhere on Earth, or UTC-12). While finishing your WIPs is a laudable goal, the PBB should be completed with all brand-new recordings. Of course, this is on the honor system and still pretty casual, this year. I'm not your mom.

Schedule

Sign-ups begin: January 1st, 2026
Check-in #1: January 22, 2026
Check-in #2: February 12th, 2026
Check-in #3: March 5th, 2026
Collection opens: March 15th, 2026, AoE
Collection closed and revealed: April 1st, 2026

As with last year, just comment below! There's no deadline to sign up. You want to say you're doing this at 11:59pm UTC-12, nobody is gonna stop you.

Community
PBB doesn't have its own community, so I highly recommend you join the PodfiChat Discord group! It's a pretty large and active community, and chatty year-round.


Rules

• Minimum length: 10,000 words
  • A multi-part series that adds up to 10,000 or more words is acceptable. Continuing a series-in-progress is allowed, but each part posted for PBB must not have been posted before.
  • Repods are okay, so long as all recording is fresh.
• You may submit as many qualifying works as you wish.
• Collaboration is great! Co-narrators, editors, whatever!
• Podfics are to be posted in the AO3 collection

Check-ins
We'll have check-ins every 3 weeks. These aren't strictly mandatory, but are recommended, especially for those who aren't active in the PodfiChat Discord.

Posting guidelines
An AO3 collection for the 2025 Podfic Big Bang will be opened on March 15th, 2026. This will be an open, unrevealed collection, until closing when March 31st, 2026 is all over. (If it’s still the 31st somewhere, you’re good!) On April 1st, the collection will be revealed with a BANG!
